As a Care Team Leader, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact — both for your team and the customers you serve. You'll guide, mentor, and empower a team of dedicated carers, ensuring they feel supported to deliver safe, consistent, and high-quality care every day. This is a hands-on leadership role where no two days are the same — you'll balance leading people with navigating daily challenges, driving teamwork, and creating an environment where carers thrive and customers live their best lives.
This is a full-time role based at our Armidale NSW branch.
Key Accountabilities
Leading, mentoring, and supporting a team of personal carers to deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred care
Coaching and developing your team through regular feedback, training, and performance discussions
Overseeing daily service delivery, including scheduling, compliance, and quality assurance
Collaborating with internal teams to resolve issues, respond to incidents, and improve customer outcomes
Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development to build a capable and engaged workforce
Championing a culture of safety, wellbeing, and compliance with aged care standards and regulations
Fostering an inclusive and positive team culture that promotes open communication, continuous improvement, and reflects Australian Unity's values
To succeed as a Care Team Leader, you'll bring a blend of leadership, compassion, and practical know-how, including:
Prior experience leading teams - aged care sector experience is not essential
Ability to coach, mentor, and develop others
Strong customer focus with a commitment to person-centred care
Confident decision-making, resilience, and strong self-management skills
Excellent communication and ability to engage with frontline teams
Knowledge of aged care quality standards, funding, and compliance requirements ideal but not essential
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
Experience with supporting employees with return to work plans advantageous
A continuous improvement mindset to drive service and team performance
