The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join the team, based in Yatala. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will lead the overall financial management and accounting process for the companies East Coast region.
Key Responsibilities include:
Supporting the finance manager by leading the month-end/quarter-end and year-end financial reporting process and activities
Timely and accurate maintenance of general ledger and reconciliations
Supporting maintenance and processing of cash management
Attend to requests and support the timely completion of the financial audit process
Timely and accurate reporting of business unit income statement, balance sheet and internal analysis reports, statutory reporting for payroll tax, FBT, GST/BAS
Maintaining the finance system, including records of payments, invoices, contractor / client payment details, and other relevant information to ensure that it is up to date and accurate
Assist and participate in the annual budgeting process
Proactively streamline and improve accounting and reporting processes and other related finance function processes
Identify key improvement opportunities in the business and share with the management team
Provide inputs and reporting to key business strategic initiatives when required
Other duties as required
Skills and Experience:
To be successful in this role, you will have a proven background in Financial Accounting, preferably in an operation of significant size for a minimum of 3 years.
Other requirements include:
CA / CPA qualified
A strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, payroll, and cost control principles
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail along with a high level of accuracy
Effective time management
Excellent communication skills and a “can do” attitude
Advanced computer skills & familiarity with ERP systems
Police check required
