Chandler Macleod is recruiting on behalf of our client for a passionate and people-focused Hospital Manager to help lead a busy and caring veterinary hospital based in Canberra.
This role is perfect for a hands-on leader who values teamwork, support, and culture just as much as operational excellence. As Hospital Manager, you'll help create a safe, positive, and well‐organised environment where people feel supported, patients receive exceptional care, and the hospital runs smoothly day in and day out.
What You'll Be Doing
* Supporting the day-to-day flow of patients and hospital operations
* Overseeing rosters and helping cover shifts when the unexpected happens
* Ensuring teams are supported, resourced, and working together effectively
* Making sure patients receive the highest standard of compassionate care
* Helping improve systems, processes, and protocols
* Managing stock, equipment, and supplies so teams can do their best work
* Building strong, trusted relationships with suppliers and team leaders
* Encouraging collaboration, training, and cross-department support
* Keeping the hospital clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone
What We're Looking For
* Qualified Veterinarian or Veterinary Nurse
* A strong background in customer service and people leadership
* Someone who genuinely cares about team wellbeing and culture
* Calm and confident under pressure
* Flexible, adaptable, and happy to pitch in where needed
* A natural role model who leads with empathy and professionalism
