**What's the role?**
As a digital news producer, you will be responsible for publishing, curating and distributing journalism that engages and informs The Advertiser/Sunday Mail audiences, driving the news agenda across all platforms and meeting the masthead subscription and page view targets.
You will have a keen eye for detail and a strong news sense, with an innate desire to break news and engage our readers. You will come equipped with a strong understanding of the current local, national and global landscape and have, with a flair for great storytelling.
- Publish, update and distribute premium subscriber journalism to all digital platforms
- Build well-produced, engaging, highly-curated digital content for publication both on-platform and off-platform
- Work with the digital homepage editors, Head of Audience, news desk, picture desk, reporters and other editorial leaders to maximise the delivery of our journalism
- Source and produce accurate, informed, high-quality content
- Use data and analytics (eg Chartbeat) to attract new subscribers and add value for existing customers
- Deliver and edit the tone of journalism for all digital platforms for greater reach and deeper engagement
- Approach news from a range of angles to develop innovative ways to present stories and maximise our journalism across all platforms including the use of graphics and video
- Ensure best experience for users of mobile devices - smartphone and via The Advertiser app
- Train and upskill reporters to build and distribute their online content to increase subscription acquisition and page views
- Support the Digital Editor and digital team in delivering all digital key performance indicators
- Support the Morning/Afternoon/Night Digital Editor on each shift and edit the website when required
- Identify potential legal issues in copy before publication.

- Has experience in digital storytelling

- Understands social media, SEO, digital data
- Ability to project plan and anticipate digital needs
- Strong motivation, a collaborative work ethic, and the ability to meet deadlines
- Able to stay calm under pressure, and know how to balance priorities
