Contribute to the enterprise BI strategy as the Senior Analyst, Business Intelligence to champion best practices and uplift performance of team members through leadership by example. Actively participate in the Business Intelligence community of practice and measurable capability uplift.
You will play a critical role in working independently with Line of Business stakeholders, identifying areas of improvement and implementing solutions that deliver business value. In this role you will manage project and solution ambiguity and makes appropriate decisions given business constraints to deliver on a business need.
This role is based in Southbank and is part of the Group Operations team.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
* Leverage BI best practices and frameworks to drive consistency, quality, and scalability across the enterprise.
* Contribute to BI governance policies covering report integrity, metadata management, access controls, and auditability.
* Advance the centralised BI report catalogue or portal to improve transparency, reduce duplication, and encourage collaboration.
* Strengthen the BI community of practice, including mentorship of BI champions and cross-functional capability uplift
* Highlight tool gaps in delivering on business needs, make recommendations for consideration to the practice lead
* Deliver reviews of self-developed BI assets to improve performance, usability, and compliance with standards.
* Translate complex business requirements into scalable BI solutions that support strategic decision-making.
* Develop initiatives to optimise BI development processes, including automation, performance tuning, and lifecycle management.
* Stay abreast of industry trends, innovations, and emerging technologies in the BI and analytics space.
* Showcase new methodologies, visualisation techniques, or delivery models to practice leadership.
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
* Tertiary qualification in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field (essential).
* Relevant certifications in BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik) or data analytics tools (desirable) / Postgraduate studies in analytics, management, or digital transformation (desirable).
* Extensive demonstrated experience in leading BI solution creation and enhancement in a complex or regulated environment.
* Track record of designing, delivering, and governing high-impact BI solutions aligned to strategic business needs.
* Proven experience improving BI standards, tools, and lifecycle governance across diverse functions.
* Ability to identify the need for cultural change in data and analytics adoption, including capability uplift and self-service enablement.
* Deep understanding of business intelligence principles, data modelling, and visualisation best practices.
* Strong knowledge of data governance, security, and quality frameworks as they apply to reporting and analytics.
* Familiarity with enterprise data platforms, data warehousing concepts, and modern data architecture.
* Awareness of regulatory, privacy, and compliance considerations related to data use and reporting in a regulated industry (e.g., energy, utilities).
