This role is made for a capable Family Lawyer who wants genuine autonomy, quality work, and a supportive senior sounding board without being micromanaged. Predominantly work from home, with occasional office days in Melbourne. What’s on offer $100,000–$120,000 super (commensurate with experience; strong candidates considered above range) Predominantly WFH with ~1–2 days per week in-office (hybrid structure) End-to-end file ownership — run your matters independently with direct client contact Consistent pipeline of quality family law work (not a churn-and-burn volume model) Senior mentoring and practical support without hovering Progression pathways as the group continues to expand Boutique, collaborative culture: professional, high-performing, and down-to-earth The role You’ll manage your own family law caseload from instruction through to resolution, working closely with clients and appearing in court as required. Matters will include: Parenting and children’s issues Property settlements Spousal maintenance Divorce and separation Consent Orders Binding Financial Agreements Litigation in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia Key responsibilities Run files end-to-end with confidence and strong judgement Draft clear, persuasive correspondence and court documents Manage deadlines, court timetables and client expectations Prepare matters for negotiation, mediation and hearings Provide calm, practical advice during high-stakes, sensitive situations Collaborate with the wider team to maintain quality and momentum What you’ll bring 3 years PAE with a strong focus in Family Law Current Australian Practising Certificate Confident drafting, file management and matter strategy Comfortable appearing in court when needed Able to work autonomously while staying connected to the team A client-first approach: measured, professional, and steady under pressure LEAP (or similar practice management software) experience is well regarded Interested in this position?
