Permanent role offering flexible working arrangements Competitive salary and attractive employee benefits Lead a small, experienced and supportive team About the Role Reporting to the Manager Asset Performance, the role is responsible for providing electrical engineering technical support for the life cycle management, and design management of electrical assets and infrastructure, including High/Low Voltage (HV/LV) cables, transformers, and switchgear; control systems; and communications networks. Key duties include: Maintain contemporary knowledge and lead the provision of technical advice on matters related to development, delivery, integrity, performance, and design of electrical assets and infrastructure. Ensure existing and new electrical assets and infrastructure within Fremantle Ports’ boundary are developed, delivered, sustained, and disposed in compliance with regulations and codes of practice, Australian Standards, and target levels of service. Manage, plan, and initiate investments in electrical assets and infrastructure, including preparation of scopes of work and preliminary designs and management of design assurance and delivery. Develop maintenance strategies and tactics to sustain and improve the performance and reliability of electrical assets and infrastructure. Essential Criteria Degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the design and asset management of electrical assets, preferably in a port or bulk materials handling environment. Chartered Engineer, or eligible for Chartered Engineer registration within Australia. Registered high voltage switching operator with a registered training organisation, with experience in managing high voltage operational works. Hold a nationally accredited qualification in the design and management of electrical installations within a hazardous area. Knowledge of Electrical Act and regulations, Statutory and Safety Standards and Supply Authority electrical requirements.
