Orchard Operations Supervisor
We are currently inviting applications for an experienced farm hand looking to advance their careers. As a Leading Hand, you will work closely with Orchard Managers and Supervisors to deliver key operational tasks, provide supervision and support to farm staff, and play an active role in enhancing our farming systems and safety practices.
* This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive approach to supporting day-to-day orchard operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Implement programs that maximise tree growth, yield, and crop quality under the guidance of the Orchard Manager.
* Contribute to the development and improvement of farming systems and safety procedures.
* Lead and coordinate small teams, including employees and labour hire personnel.
* Promote a positive, safe, and productive work environment across the orchard.
* Undertake operational activities such as spraying, pruning, fertilising, slashing, mulching, farm maintenance, and operating plant and equipment.
Requirements
* Extensive experience in farming operations, ideally with tree crops.
* The ability to supervise small teams of employees, contractors or labour hire personnel.
* Strong skills in farm operations including planting, pruning, fertilising, harvesting, irrigation, and machinery use.
* Experience with minor equipment maintenance and repairs.
* Ability to contribute to the development of farming systems and safety processes.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and record-keeping skills.
* A valid C class driver's licence, chemical user certificate, loader and chainsaw operation tickets (desirable), HR class licence (desirable), Forklift licence (desirable), and First Aid certificate (desirable).
