Your New Role
This role provides specialist Neuro‐Ophthalmology clinical care to patients and assumes overall responsibility for patient care. Services provided include:
* Provides specialist services at Metro South Hospital and Health Service
* Provides outpatient consultations for patients
* Provides inpatient care and consultations as requested
* Participates in multidisciplinary clinics and meetings
* Supervision and teaching of registrars, junior doctors and medical students, and teaching for other members of the multidisciplinary team
* Participation and or leadership of research and quality improvement activities
About You
This role provides subspecialist clinical care to patients and assumes overall responsibility for patient care. Services provided include:
* To provide specialist Ophthalmology services at the Metro South Health, Princess Alexandra Hospital.
* You will contribute as a team member to high quality Ophthalmology service as attended by your credentialing and scope of clinical practice.
* You will commit to clinical governance, patient safety and continual development of your clinical knowledge and skill and to the supervision and training of registrars, junior medical staff, and students.
* You will not be required to participate in the consultant after hours on call roster for Ophthalmology.

Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.
We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
