About the role:
This position will see you working within a supportive and highly skilled Hospital Pharmacy and multidisciplinary team to ensure medication safety and optimal service efficiency. You will be dispensing, preparing, and distributing inpatient medications, dispensing discharge and outpatient prescriptions, and providing medication information and education to patients and other healthcare workers.
Our successful candidate will be supported by the Director of Pharmacy, pharmacy technicians and assistants and the pharmacist team. Ongoing training and education will be provided through both formal and informal learning opportunities.

A charming former coal mining town, Kurri Kurri is located a short drive from the spectacular Hunter Valley wine region. Kurri Kurri is known for its impressive murals painted throughout the town and its surrounds, found on local buildings and signage. The town is located just a 45 minute drive from Newcastle, and only 20 minutes from Maitland.
The vibrant pharmacy team at Kurri Kurri Hospital endeavours to achieve optimal medication outcomes following the Hunter New England principle of serving Every Patient, Every Time. We achieve this goal by offering clinical pharmacy services to various medical, surgical, and paediatric wards, including the emergency department and intensive care unit.
About You:
We are looking for someone with extensive relevant work experience in pharmacy and pharmacy computer systems, as well as the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. You should be competent in dispensing, non-sterile production and ward distribution.
Requirements:
* Completed a minimum of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Certificate IV issued by a Registered Training Organisation in Hospital Pharmacy or Community Dispensary or have qualifications deemed by the employer to be equivalent.

* To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable local candidate is identified for the position; in this instance, you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
