You will provide strategic leadership to remove barriers to clean energy project deployment and strengthen participation outcomes for First Nations peoples and regional communities. The role requires strong cross-jurisdictional engagement, including high-level liaison with Commonwealth, State and Territory governments, regulators, industry stakeholders, and First Nations representatives to ensure coordinated and consistent policy and program delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the development and implementation of major policy and program initiatives aligned to Government priorities.
Preparing Cabinet submissions, Ministerial briefings, executive advice, reports, and presentations.
Overseeing communication and stakeholder engagement strategies.
Representing the department at senior intergovernmental and industry forums.
Building and leading a high-performing, inclusive team and driving continuous improvement.
We are seeking an experienced executive with a proven track record in complex policy or program environments, strong stakeholder management capability, and demonstrated First Nations engagement experience supported by cultural awareness and capability.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to flagship clean energy initiatives and ensure the energy transition delivers meaningful benefits for First Nations peoples and regional Australians.
