Responsibilities
* Assist the Principal Lawyer and the team in a busy and thriving boutique practice
* Work closely with the Principal on interesting, varied and complex Criminal, Family & Civil litigation matters
* Work autonomously and take active responsibility for files
* Attend court for hearings, mentions, procedural hearings, conciliation conferences, mediations, interim hearings, and instruct counsel in trials
* Research, draft and manage court documents including statements of claim, affidavits, orders, case outlines and submissions
* Independently advise clients on matters including taking instructions, preparing letters of advice, general day‐to‐day correspondence and file management
* Confer and advise clients
Qualifications & Experience
* Admitted as a solicitor in NSW with some PQE
* Carriage of matters in the Local, District, Supreme, Federal Circuit Court, Family Court and ability to manage files
* Advanced skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
* Experience appearing in Court, including running hearings
* A "can‐do" attitude and proactive approach in all aspects of Family/Civil law practice
* A working knowledge of Criminal, Family and Civil litigation law
* Exceptional drafting skills and written work
* Exceptional time‐management and multi‐tasking skills, including prioritising tasks and meeting competing deadlines
* Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast‐paced environment and organise workload to meet tight deadlines
* Knowledge of PEXA and LEAP preferable but not essential
