Overview
Senior Infrastructure Engineer with strong enterprise database expertise to join a large, complex and nationally significant technology environment. This role sits within a highly technical team responsible for designing, delivering and supporting critical database and infrastructure platforms that underpin essential digital services.
Contract details
* Contract | 24 months + extension options
* Locations: ACT, NSW, QLD, VIC or SA
* Clearance: Active NV1 required
Responsibilities
* Design, implement, operate and maintain enterprise database infrastructure (on‐prem and cloud)
* Administer and support SQL Server and/or Oracle environments, including high availability and disaster recovery
* Lead and contribute to upgrades, migrations and platform optimisation initiatives
* Manage patching, backups, archiving and capacity planning activities
* Perform complex troubleshooting, root‐cause analysis and performance tuning
* Configure and manage non‐functional platforms such as scheduling, reporting, security and connectivity
* Collaborate with infrastructure, application and vendor teams across multi‐disciplinary environments
* Provide technical leadership, documentation and knowledge sharing within the team
* Support change, release and incident management processes
Technologies & tools
* SQL Server, Oracle, Always On AGs, OEM, Exadata, SSIS, SSRS, Power BI, Azure Databases, PowerShell, SQL, PL/SQL, Linux/Unix/Windows, Git/TFS, DevOps, GoldenGate
Essential experience
* Enterprise in database administration (SQL Server 2019-2022 and/or Oracle 19c+)
* Strong experience with Always On Availability Groups and/or Oracle high‐availability solutions
* Demonstrated expertise in performance tuning, troubleshooting and problem management
* Experience working in complex, large‐scale environments with high availability requirements
* Strong stakeholder communication skills (technical and non‐technical)
* Exposure to enterprise platforms such as case management, planning, GIS, RPA or collaboration tools
* Automation and observability experience, including PowerShell scripting and alerting solutions
* DevOps practices and source control (Git/TFS)
* Experience with Azure database services and hybrid environments
* Knowledge of security, compliance and licensing within regulated environments
* Experience sharing knowledge and mentoring team members
