Job Title: Senior Kennel Hand
As a key member of our animal care team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day welfare and health of animals in our facility. This includes cleaning the facility, conducting health checks, feeding and administering medication, as well as exercising and preparing enrichment activities for residents.
The successful candidate will have a passion for animal welfare and be able to work collaboratively with other staff to ensure the overall management of the facility is maintained at a high standard. You will also be required to mentor and guide Kennel Hands in operational practices and animal welfare matters.
This role may involve exposure to sensitive and traumatic situations, including aggressive or agitated customers, and viewing images and materials associated with animal cruelty and injuries to people and/or animals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct health checks on animals
* Administer medication to animals
* Prepare enrichment activities for residents
* Exercise and move dogs around the facility
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Certificate III in Animal Care Services (or ability to attain within 12 months)
* Accredited microchipping certification (or ability to attain within 6 months)
* Driver Licence (Class C) or equivalent
* Pre-employment medical assessment which includes audiometric testing
* National Police Check
