Emerald Hospital is located 300 kms west of the Queensland coastline.
The population of the surrounding community is approximately 28,000 with 15,000 at Emerald.
There are two small hospitals within 100 kms, located at Blackwater and Springsure.
Emerald Hospital is a 32-bed facility, has two operating theatres and approximately 160 staff delivering services across acute, community and primary care.
About the role
To provide a high standard of administrative support to all functional areas within the health facility.
Respond to all enquiries and provide information, assistance and promote good public relations to staff, patients and visitors to facilitate effective service delivery with the Emerald Hospital.
Contribute to patient flow by performing a support role to nursing and medical staff.
The role of this position is to provide timely and accurate information to staff, clients and the public where appropriate.
About you
Coordinate approved patient and staff travel and process travel claims in a timely manner, in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
Provide advice to clients about booking options and arrange, coordinate and process accommodation, including amendments and non-standard accommodation requests as required.
Accurately record and coordinate the Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme applications, claims, booking information and personal details into the Patient Travel database in a timely manner and in accordance with established procedures.
Exercise approvals and decision making within delegation and accelerate approvals, appeals and decisions outside of delegation appropriately.
