The Role:
As part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality mental health services in accordance with the National Quality and Safety Health Service Standards (NSQHS), Agency policy, legal requirements, and relevant professional competencies, the Senior Occupational Therapist will:
* Ensure the quality of clinical Occupational Therapy services in Adult Mental Health Services (South) (AMHS) through professional accountability, supervision, and participation, including the Continuing Care Stream and the Acute Care Stream.
* Lead ongoing service development and intersectoral liaison.
* Be responsible for the operation of Occupational Therapy services within AMHS.
* Provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessment, treatment, and case management services to clients of the region’s AMHS, utilizing evidence-based, best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
* Participate in strategic direction, policy development, and the delivery and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services across the continuum of care.
* Act as a consultant to other agencies regarding support and management of clients with mental health needs and promote community awareness about mental health.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full-time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.
Salary:
$123,717 to $134,336 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022
Salary Packaging :
You’ll have access to salary packaging benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
* Access to salaries beyond $130,900 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme (for AHP4 positions only).
Additional allowances based on the salaried incremental point may include:
* Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

* Tertiary qualification approved by the Occupational Board of Australia
* Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
* Current registration/licenses required for this role must remain valid at all times during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure these remain current and to notify the employer of any changes, revocations, cancellations, or condition alterations.
Desirable criteria include:
* Progress towards relevant postgraduate qualifications
* Current Driver’s Licence
