About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Head of Procurement to lead and shape our procurement strategy across a growing Australian manufacturing and supply network. Reporting into CEO and Global Procurement Head, this role is responsible for planning, developing and managing procurement arrangements across materials, packaging, utilities, logistics and services.
You will partner closely with Manufacturing, Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain teams to drive sustainable cost optimisation, operational efficiency and supply continuity across our mills, converting sites and warehousing operations nationwide. This is a key leadership role with real influence on business performance and outcomes.
What you will be doing:
* Shaping sustainable and competitive sourcing strategies and supplier negotiations across the business through understanding of key cost drivers, industry trends and current/future best practices, ensuring long-term pricing mechanisms and 3rd party relationship management
* Leading supplier performance, contract compliance, and governance and process changes, providing regular financial, service and quality forecasts to business leaders
* Identifying & implementing margin and order value opportunities, supply chain improvements and supplier development initiatives, with the ultimate goal of providing an optimised range and contributing to overall operational efficiency
* Establishing and setting yearly budgets as agreed, deliver financial outcomes in line with expectations and report relevant Procurement financial performance monthly
* Deliver measurable cost reductions while improving service levels, flexibility and supplier performance
* Developing strategies to reduce procurement risks, cost reduction and optimisation of the procurement processes
* Lead, coach and develop a high‐performing procurement team with clear objectives and accountability
* Build strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and the external supply base
What will make you successful:
* Minimum 10 years' experience in senior procurement or supply chain leadership, ideally within an FMCG or manufacturing environment
* Proven track record of delivering cost savings, supplier optimisation and commercial outcomes
* Strong negotiation, tendering and contract management expertise
* Commercially astute with excellent analytical and problem‐solving skills
* Confident influencer with the ability to build credibility at executive and operational levels
* Agile, resilient and comfortable navigating complexity and change
* A collaborative, people‐focused leader who develops capability and drives performance
* Advanced proficiency across MS Office and strong business reporting skills
