The VACCA team is committed to the organisation’s visions and values, passionately providing support, service and advocacy for our children and other vulnerable members of the community.Our strength lies with our people.About the roleThis position will be responsible for working with Aboriginal children and families, Government and sector partners to reduce the over representation of Aboriginal children in care and in contact with the Child Protection system, strive for better outcomes for children and to build capacity in families so that children can be transitioned home.About YouThe Nugel Case Manager engages with Aboriginal children, young people, and families to support their holistic wellbeing—physical, emotional, social, cultural, and spiritual. Working within the Children, Youth and Families Act (2005) and VACCA guidelines, the role involves assessing risks, developing culturally grounded safety plans, and strengthening family connections to culture and community. Responsibilities include implementing strength-based and healing practices, advocating in the Children’s Court, and maintaining accurate case records.The position also builds collaborative relationships with families, community organisations, and government partners to ensure culturally safe, wrap-around support.
