Coastal Electrics is a proudly WA-owned and operated electrical contractor delivering projects across the mining, resources, industrial, infrastructure and commercial sectors. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to support our operational teams and help drive a strong safety-first culture across our business.
This is a hands‐on role suited to someone who enjoys building relationships in the field, working closely with supervisors and project teams, and making a genuine impact on safety, quality and compliance outcomes. The role combines site engagement, compliance management, incident investigation, IMS support and continuous improvement initiatives.
About the Role
Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, you will work across our project portfolio, providing practical HSEQ support and coaching to operational personnel while assisting with the ongoing development and implementation of our Integrated Management System (IMS).
Travel Requirements: Regular site travel is required. Travel schedules are largely self‐managed and are expected to average approximately 2 days per month away from home, however additional travel may be required from time to time to support project and business needs.
Key Responsibilities Site Support & Engagement
* Conduct regular site visits across Coastal Electrics projects and workplaces.
* Build strong working relationships with Supervisors, Superintendents and Project Managers.
* Provide practical HSEQ coaching and support to frontline personnel.
* Participate in toolbox meetings, pre‐starts and safety discussions.
* Promote positive workforce engagement and safety leadership.
Health & Safety
* Conduct workplace inspections, audits and observations.
* Assist with incident investigations and corrective action management.
* Support risk assessments, JHAs and SWMS reviews.
* Facilitate CRAW workshops and risk review activities.
* Monitor compliance with legislative, company and client requirements.
* Identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
Systems, Compliance & IMS
* Support the ongoing implementation and maintenance of our Integrated Management System.
* Assist with internal and external audits.
* Manage and monitor corrective actions and non‐conformances.
* Maintain HSEQ documentation and document control processes.
* Administer the STEMS compliance platform and generate compliance reporting.
* Support onboarding, inductions, training records and competency management.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:
* Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum requirement).
* Diploma in WHS or related discipline (highly regarded).
* ICAM or equivalent incident investigation training (desirable).
* Construction White Card.
* Current WA Driver's Licence.
* 3+ years' experience in a HSEQ Advisor role.
* Experience within mining, resources, construction, infrastructure or electrical contracting environments.
* Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems.
* Experience using compliance management platforms (STEMS highly regarded).
* Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
* The ability to build trust and credibility with operational teams.
