A BIT ABOUT GOODWIN VAUGHAN
Goodwin Vaughan is Newcastle's leading architectural builder, delivering high‑end residential homes and major renovations that are as technically challenging as they are beautiful. Born from a long‑standing partnership between Lou Goodwin and Dan Vaughan, this young energetic business is built on years of experience and a shared obsession with quality. Projects average $1.5M–$2M and feature premium natural materials, particularly high‑end solid timbers. These aren't hidden away; they are on show. Staircases, exposed beams, custom joinery… everything becomes a feature, and everything has to line up. You'll be working with materials that demand skill and attention; timber that moves, details that architects will measure to the millimetre. This isn't a slap‑it‑up operation; it's about building with integrity, precision, and pride.
THE ROLE
The Foreman is the main point of contact on site and plays a critical role in upholding the company's reputation for quality. You manage one project from end to end, ensuring millimetre‑perfect execution of all construction elements, particularly visible feature timbers that require exact alignment and attention to grain, symmetry, and finish. You'll be on the tools each day, but just as much of your time will be spent planning ahead, coordinating trades, and keeping clients, architects, and owners in the loop.
ABOUT THE JOB
When you're building homes at this level, the difference is in the details. Every timber joint, every angle, every line. At Goodwin Vaughan, nothing is hidden behind plasterboard — your craftsmanship is on full display. That's why we're looking for a Foreman who is meticulous, hands‑on, and proud of their work. This is the perfect role for a builder who genuinely cares about the finish, thrives on getting things just right, and wants to be part of a company that values quality over corners.
