This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Financial Accountant to contribute to an influential state organisation. The role is a 3-6-month temporary contract, reporting directly to the Finance Controller where you will play a key part in strengthening financial processes during a period of ongoing growth and operational activity. The Role This is a 3-6 month position and a perfect opportunity to make impactful change within the business. Ownership of core financial accounting and cleanup activities. Review and apply relevant Accounting Standards (AASB), Lead financial modelling for budgeting, changes and salary scenarios. Prepare reconciliations and financial data ahead of a new ERP implementation and assist with go‑live testing. Improve creditor terms, strengthen processes and address gaps in current financial controls. Assist with external audit deliverables and liaise with new auditors. Update and refine the organisation's 3‑way budget model; ensure missing or inaccurate data is corrected. Manage mini‑projects and ad‑hoc financial tasks in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment. Communicate effectively with stakeholders. Your Profile Success in this role requires: Professional accreditation as a CA or CPA. Exceptional Microsoft Office capability, particularly in advanced Excel. Demonstrated experience owning the end‑to‑end preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and statutory reporting.
