About The Position
The Chief Engineer will lead strategic asset management planning, oversee the Capital Works program, and ensure the effective application of engineering excellence in project delivery.
* Lead, mentor, and manage a professional engineering team to deliver infrastructure projects on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
* Act as the asset owner for multiple asset classes, ensuring compliance with relevant asset management policies, strategies, and plans.
* Manage the development and implementation of Asset Management Systems and Maintenance Management Systems.
* Oversee complex civil infrastructure designs and provide authoritative technical advice to stakeholders and the community.
* Deliver effective project management including procurement, contract administration, and cost control.
* Engage in high-level consultation and liaison with residents, government agencies, contractors, and elected officials.
* Drive innovation and sustainability in infrastructure planning and delivery.
Essential Criteria
* Degree in Civil Engineering and Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status with Engineers Australia is mandatory.
* Proven experience in civil and building design, asset management, and delivery of civil works programs.
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing professional engineering teams.
* Extensive project management experience with proven cost oversight and contractual acumen.
* High-level communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with diverse stakeholders.
* Current Class C Driver's Licence is required.
