Position Profile
Manages reception and administration duties at a clinic level for Visiting Specialists and Outpatients Clinics including: telephone, face-to-face patient reception, clerical and administration support to doctors, clinic room allocation and scheduling, assisting with billing for patients and doctors, and arranging and booking travel/accommodation for Visiting Specialists as required. The position rotates through the Visiting Specialist and Outpatient Clinics as required.
Area Profile
The Goldfields region of the WA Country Health Service (WACHS) covers the lower eastern third of Western Australia (WA). It is geographically the largest region in country WA, covering an area of over 771,276 square kilometres, more than three times the size of Victoria. WA Country Health Service provides services from two main health campus in the Goldfields; located in Kalgoorlie (the regional resource centre) and Esperance. There are also three smaller hospitals located in Laverton, Leonora and Norseman as well as community based services across the entire region. The Goldfields is rich in culture and history. There are 16 distinct Aboriginal language groups and Aboriginal communities spread across the region. More than one in 10 people, that is 12.3percent, identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, compared to 3.6 percent across the state. The region has played a key role in the development of modern Australia and supports a variety of industries including tourism, mining, pastoralism and agriculture and shipping and aquaculture.
