The Position:
This is an exceptional opportunity to work as an O&G Registrar at a large healthcare facility in Victoria. The role will provide clinical support across all elements of patient care, enabling the individual to progress their training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
The O&G department handles approximately 1300 deliveries each year, with multiple gynaecology theatre sessions weekly. Key responsibilities include attendance at ante-natal and gynaecology outpatients. Additionally, the position involves labour ward support and assisting in theatre, undertaking surgical procedures under supervision.
This role is suitable for doctors who have completed SIMG training and require consultant supervision to obtain further qualifications in Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide clinical support to the O&G service
2. Attend ante-natal and gynaecology outpatient clinics
3. Support labour ward activities
4. Assist in theatre and undertake surgical procedures under supervision
The Location:
Situated within a 90-minute drive from Melbourne, this location serves as the economic hub of the Central Highlands. The area is renowned for its culinary offerings and fine wines, boasting some of Australia's finest grammar schools. The city offers a blend of urban and rural living, an array of amenities, and is a prominent tourist destination.
The Facility:
This 350+ bed health service is the major healthcare provider in the region, serving as the principal referral hospital. It provides general and specialty medical and surgical services, emergency and intensive care, residential aged care, rehabilitation, oncology, mental health, maternity, paediatric services, and Hospital in the Home (HITH).
The facility is undertaking significant investments, including a new tower set to be completed in 2027. This will feature a new emergency department, women and children's hub, state-of-the-art theatre suite, and additional inpatient and short stay beds.
Eligibility Criteria:
* General, Provisional, or Limited registration with AHPRA or eligible to obtain
* IMGs who have completed the AMC MCQ (part 1) or both AMC 1 & 2 (clinical exam)
* IMGs eligible via the Competent Authority Pathway (training in the UK, USA, NZ, Canada, or Ireland)
* IMGs assessed by RANZCOG College as partially or substantially comparable
* IMGs interested in foreign training via the Short Term Training Specialist Pathway (STT)
* Previous experience working as an O&G Registrar
