The team

The Registry & Intelligence group (R&I) provides trusted information, insights, data, and frontline services to help people make informed decisions and drive confident participation in the Australian economy.

ASIC administers more than 30 legal registers. The two largest, the Companies and Business Names registers contain details of over more than 3.2 million companies and 2.7 million business names. The users of the ASIC Registry come include small and large businesses, industry professionals, government, and the public. Users come to the ASIC Registry with specific goals in mind: to start up a company or register a business name, to update their address or other details, to cancel their registration or to search for public information. When users need assistance to complete a registration or keep their information on the registers up to date, we're ready to help.

The Registry & Intelligence (R&I) group at ASIC delivers reliable information, insights, data, and frontline services, empowering informed decision-making and confident participation in the Australian economy. Managing over 30 legal registers—including the Companies and Business Names registers with details of millions of entities—R&I serves a diverse range of users, from small and large businesses to government and the public. The team supports users as they register companies or business names, update details, cancel registrations or access public information, ensuring seamless and accessible registry services every step of the way.

The role

As a Business Analyst, You Will

Address and resolve external compliance matters and customer enquiries in accordance with ASIC frameworks.Act as a point of escalation for staff and customer issues related to Registry systems, providing effective support and solutions.Contribute to the development and improvement of registry products and services, including reviewing business requirements and offering recommendations.Engage in research, communicate solutions for issues, and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to meet business and client needs.Participate in process improvements and conduct user acceptance and product verification testing for new systems and releases, including outside standard business hours if required.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess solid experience in business analysis and project management, demonstrating the ability to work effectively within a team. Your proven skills include analysing and understanding business requirements, tackling complex issues, and drafting clear policy and procedure documents. You collaborate well with stakeholders to identify priorities, address queries, and drive change initiatives. Additionally, your strong organisational and communication abilities enable you to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and support collaborative efforts. You have hands-on experience in user acceptance testing and documenting business requirements and processes.
