We’re partnering with a progressive and fast-growing public sector organisation seeking a Senior Infrastructure Specialist to join their Digital, Technology & Innovation team.

The Opportunity Reporting to the Team Leader – IT Infrastructure & Operations, you will:
* Lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of enterprise infrastructure
* Provide senior-level support across virtual servers, networking, and cloud environments
* Drive security uplift, incident response, and vulnerability remediation
* Support and enhance Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
* Contribute to infrastructure modernisation and continuous improvement initiatives
Key Responsibilities
* Design and deploy infrastructure across virtualised and cloud platforms
* Manage enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions
* Administer Microsoft 365 and Azure (IaaS, data services, resources)
* Maintain and enhance Active Directory and core networking services
* Lead security response activities and implement remediation strategies
* Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to deliver high-quality outcomes
* Ensure alignment with ITIL-based service management practices
Essential Experience
* Strong background in enterprise infrastructure support and engineering
* Expertise in:
o Virtualisation (VMware / Hyper-V)
o Microsoft 365 & Azure
o Active Directory & endpoint security tools
* Proven experience handling security incidents and vulnerabilities
* Deep knowledge of storage, backup, and recovery systems
* Strong stakeholder engagement and vendor management skills
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities
Desirable Skills
* Experience in government or regulated environments
* Exposure to automation/IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
* Understanding of Zero Trust architecture
* Familiarity with frameworks such as:
o ISO 27001
o NIST CSF
o Essential Eight
