This is your chance to play a pivotal role as Package Manager (Enabling Works) for a top-tier Australian civil contractor, in delivering a 150 man camp as part of the new ADF airfield infrastructure on the Cocos (Keeling) Islands.
About the Project
The project is located 3,000km northwest of Perth (approximate 6 hour flight on Tuesdays & Fridays) in the Indian Ocean, and we are seeking an experienced Project Manager or Package Manager (Enabling Works) to lead the delivery of the permanent 150 man camp that will ultimately house the permanent workforce on the island.
About the Role
This is a permanent FIFO 2/1 position for the project duration (with an RDO mid-swing), working for a Tier 1 national contractor. You will be reporting to the Construction Manager on site, and you will oversee subcontractor management from tender through to commissioning and handover, ensuring all works related to the camp are delivered safely, on time, and to specification. You'll thrive on complexity, excel at interface and stakeholder management, and take pride in leading teams to deliver exceptional results in remote environments.
Key responsibilities:
* Manage delivery of the camp works from start to finish
* Oversee subcontractor performance, program, safety, quality, and commercial outcomes
* Develop and implement plans and schedules for the works
* Foster a strong safety culture and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders
* Lead and mentor team members to drive accountability and high performance
About you:
* Proven experience managing major camp/village/infrastructure projects for contractors
* Strong commercial, contractual and stakeholder management capability
* Proven experience confidently leading multidisciplinary teams in remote locations and/or for Australian Defence Force (ADF) projects
* Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, construction management, or related discipline
* Current Australian citizen to acquire ADF clearance, if not already held
