Sr. Engineer, Generation Field Maintenance

Annual salary: $ 107,000.00 - 135,300.00
Position Highlights Generation Field Maintenance Engineers (FME's) at Mica provide maintenance and technical expertise to BC Hydro leadership and crews for hydro generators and equipment in the generating station and dam. In this position you'll work alongside two other FME's (one mechanical and one other electrical) to support the facility. The work is interesting and requires broad technical abilities to troubleshoot issues and continuously improve a complex maintenance program and support capital works.
What you'll do
* Provide electrical engineering field support and leadership to maintenance crews, management, and projects; arrange and
manage support from the central maintenance engineering teams as necessary.
* Review completed maintenance results, support corrective actions, and revise the preventative maintenance program as
needed.
* Act as technical lead when troubleshooting equipment issues, completing root cause analysis investigations, and
developing corrective actions.
* Complete inspections to support Equipment Health Ratings (EHR) and develop Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)
strategies for equipment.
* Provide input in the development of complex projects and facility asset plans.
What you bring
* A degree in Electrical Engineering.
* Registration or immediately eligible for registration as a professional engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
* A minimum 8 years of experience in the relevant engineering field including considerable electric utility experience (4-8
years of experience to be considered at the appropriate pay grade and level).
* Previous field experience with demonstrated technical knowledge of hydro-electric generation, industrial operating
facilities, maintenance and/or equipment reliability (preferred).
* Well-developed and effective communication skills to collaborate with various internal and external groups.
* The ability to lead work and provide technical direction to engineers and/or other technical support staff.
* Proficiency in developing innovative methods of analysis for complex issues and competing demands.

* This position is located north of Revelstoke, B.C. and employees live anywhere from Revelstoke out towards Kelowna and

* This position is headquartered at Mica Generating Station, involves a 4-day work week and accommodations provided in a
camp environment. Employees may not reside full time at Mica Creek and are expected to maintain a residence within the catchment area (roughly from Revelstoke to Kelowna and Kamloops).
* This location is eligible for a Remote Incentive of 20%. Remote Incentives are paid bi-weekly to Full-Time Regular
employees working in eligible remote locations.
* This location is eligible for Extended Health Care Medical Travel Benefit. The Extended Health Care Medical Travel
Benefit is extended to Full-Time Regular, Part-Time Regular and Full-Time Temporary employees who are permanently working in eligible remote locations.
* Please note the stated salary range is for a Sr. Engineer (8 years minimum experience). Candidates with less years of
experience and/or who do not possess the full qualifications will still be considered at the appropriate level with commensurate pay.
