We have an exciting opportunity for a Renewable Energy Liaison Officer to join the team in Bathurst.
This position is a key support role which will see you interacting with various internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis in relation to our Renewable Energy Program.

About The Role
The key purpose of the role of the Renewable Energy Liaison Officer is to be the interface between FCNSW and wind farm proponents for a particular precinct or location. As a Liaison Officer, you will be the main point of contact between the FCNSW regional forestry team, the Renewable Energy team, and wind farm proponents and their contractors on day-to-day issues regarding these projects.
The Liaison Officer also contributes to the formulation of management strategies and plans, systems and processes, and key initiatives for the Renewable Energy Program. The person also makes a contribution to fire management in the local area.
What You'll Bring To The Role
* Ability to build and maintain constructive relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders together with high levels of diplomacy and the ability to effectively manage potentially contentious and confidential matters.
* Personal attributes of resilience, empathy, and an ability to promote a positive, compliance culture.
* Strong organisational capability, with the ability to plan and prioritise work while meeting standards and deadlines
* Relevant qualifications together with familiarity with forestry management and protection, which may include harvesting and roading, weed and pest control, fire management, planning and suppression, and silviculture.
* Proven successful experience in natural resource management and experience in undertaking activities related to forestry or environmental compliance.
* Well-developed communication, written, negotiation and project management skills.
* Ability to work cross functionally without direct line management authority to reach desired outcomes.
