We have an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and dedicatedInclusive Education Assistantto work at point of need across our sub-schools commencing Term 1, ****.
Our students requiring support have a range of learning needs and/or disabilities.
To be successful you will have previous experience in a school setting and demonstrate a passion for working with students with additional needs.
Candidates will need to have experience working with small groups and individuals in a range of classroom contexts, with students or various ages and developmental stages and who may have medical, health or learning disabilities.
Our ideal candidate will:
Have relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate IV in Teacher Assistant (Special Needs);
Have extensive experience working with students in a primary and/or secondary context including supporting students in core curriculum and specialist content areas and the ability to transfer across sub-schools if necessary;
Be enthusiastic and patient, with experience working with students who have learning disabilities such as Dyslexia, Dysgraphia or Dyscalculia, who may have an Autism Spectrum Disorder, an Intellectual Disability, Speech and Language Disorder, Generalised Anxiety Disorder or who have challenges in regulating their behaviour;
Have experience in the delivery of targeted intervention programs for literacy and/or Mathematics;
Have experience in implementing Individual Education Plans and putting transition plans into practice;
Have excellent interpersonal skills and who can communicate effectively with staff, students and parents;
Enjoy working and contributing as part of a team;
Be flexible and open to feedback, and keen to improve their professional practice; and
Be prepared to support students across a variety of learning environments outside of the classroom including on excursion and camps.
