Livestock and Mill Operator

As a part of the Livestock and Feed team, the core duties would be:
Responsibilities
· Receival and Induction of animals to the Feedlot.
· Accurate recording of data capture relating to animal movements, treatment and processes.
· Responsible for monitoring animal welfare and making recommendations in relation to animal health to Management.
* Administering of medication to sick animals, when required, in consultation with Vet.
* Safely and effectively undertake pen walking.
* When necessary, operate heavy machinery as required including but not limited to Front End loader, Feed Tractor, Bobcat.
* Ensure effective delivery of feed to animals, using modern machinery.
* Ensuring arranging correct feed allotment allocated to specific animal pens to create desired finishing results.
* When necessary, perform general repairs and maintenance of equipment as required including the use of grinder, welder, and other power tools
* Managing the day to day operations of the Feed Mill
* Monitoring and distribution of feed to cattle within the Feedlot is completed accurately and in timely manner
* Monitoring the weighing of grain and making adjustments to ensure the correct milling procedure
* Monitoring the tempering and milling grain
* Safe and effective operation of plant, equipment and machinery
* Monitoring the conditions of livestock
* Water Management; Creation and delivering specialized cattle feed rations to specifications
* Monitoring the receiving and storage of rations
* Monitoring ration moisture analysis by collecting samples and completing relevant documentations
* Maintenance and operation of heavy machinery as required
* Maintenance and servicing of both machinery and fences
* General station work - fencing and water repairs
Qualifications and experience
· AQF Advance Diploma or equivalent, or at least three years of relevant Livestock experience - Low stress handling
Skills and Abilities
· Farm machinery experience
· Motivated to work both independently and in a team environment.
· Excellent time management skills
· Positive attitude and attention to detail
· Willingness to learn.
