Overview

Resort Manager – Cygnet Bay Pearls, Dampier Peninsular, Broome & Kimberley, WA. Management (Hospitality & Tourism) – Full time. Annual wage $75,000 – $85,000 PA (inclusive of Food & Board). Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm is located on the tip of the Dampier Peninsula and has been open to the public since 2009. The pearl farm is 200km / two hours north of Broome, WA, so you must be prepared to live in a remote environment as part of a small community.

Staff are known for their friendly, can-do attitudes. We are seeking an authentic, passionate person who enjoys interacting with people of all ages to lead our Hospitality team at Cygnet Bay. The Resort Manager reports directly to the Tourism Manager and oversees the overall resort operations, including front office, accommodation, restaurant, land and marine tours, and retail departments.

Responsibilities

* Directing and overseeing reservation, reception, room service and housekeeping activities
* Supervising security arrangements and garden and property maintenance
* Planning and supervising bar, restaurant, function and conference activities
* Observing liquor, gaming, and other laws and regulations
* Assessing and reviewing customer satisfaction
* Overseeing accounting and purchasing activities
* Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
* Providing guests with local tourism information and arranging tours and transportation
* Engaging with all tourism departments daily to optimise operational efficiency
* Promoting professionalism, hospitality, customer service and positive guest interactions
* Supervising and directing guest service departments for overnight and day visitor operations
* Supervising housekeeping for accommodation and camping areas to ensure high-quality outcomes
* Human Resources responsibilities, including recruiting and performance managing supervisors and staff
* Responding promptly to guest complaints and incidents and completing required reporting
* Participating in special events at Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm and other locations as requested
* Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, tour partners, industry, corporate guests and community
* Developing and enforcing rules, policies, and procedures

Essential Skills

* A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in hospitality or a similar field, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role directing a multi-level staff
* AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) in a relevant field
* Professional demeanor with the ability to resolve customer complaints and staff issues
* Flexible leadership style to accommodate changes in daily routine and competing priorities
* Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, email, MYOB and reservation software
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while completing multiple tasks

Desirable criteria

* Manual driver's license or MR license
* Experience working and living in a remote location
* Experience with in-house bookings / sales systems: RMS, FareHarbor, Swift POS, and Tower POS

Position Type & Expected Work Hours

* Annualised wage, full-time, permanent
* 5-day work week, including weekends
* Approximately 45 hours per week
* Position includes food & onsite accommodation within remuneration package
