Project Manager (Strategy & Planning)
A major Queensland Government division is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support strategic planning and master planning activities across a portfolio of coastal maritime assets. This role sits within a specialised strategy and planning team and focuses on governance, procurement, project delivery and stakeholder coordination to support long-term planning outcomes.
You'll lead end-to-end delivery of planning projects, oversee consultant engagement, maintain governance and assurance processes, and coordinate complex stakeholder interactions across government, industry and technical disciplines. This is a non-engineering project management position ideal for someone who thrives on structured delivery, planning oversight and strong stakeholder collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of strategic planning and master planning projects, ensuring alignment with program priorities and organisational objectives.
Develop project plans, scopes, governance frameworks and schedules to support planning activities across multiple sites.
Coordinate and manage consultant engagements, including procurement documentation, tender evaluations, onboarding and contract administration.

Maintain project schedules, risk registers and reporting frameworks, ensuring emerging risks are identified and managed proactively.
Prepare clear, concise and accurate reports, advice, briefs and correspondence to support informed decision-making.
Build strong partnerships with internal teams, external agencies, local government, industry representatives and subject matter experts.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, departmental policies, WHS standards and sustainability objectives.
Support continuous improvement of project management practices, tools and templates.
Undertake additional duties aligned to strategic planning objectives as required.
About You
You bring experience managing planning or strategy-focused projects, ideally involving infrastructure, transport or land-use considerations. You are confident coordinating consultants, producing quality documentation, managing budgets and governance, and influencing a diverse range of stakeholders.
