JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer
We support water customers across Australia to provide our communities with the best drinking water and wastewater treatment services, whilst innovating ways to safeguard and secure our country's water supplies, elevating public spaces and enhancing livability.
The Opportunity
You'll be a key member of our Water team, which has secured projects that will significantly impact the Australian water landscape. We aim to provide a more efficient and integrated water system to support Victoria's growth and to maintain and improve environmental outcomes. Our services encompass the full water cycle, including major pipelines, large pumping stations, and advanced water, wastewater, and recycling treatment facilities.
We address critical water cycle challenges by adopting flexible program delivery models and ongoing asset management strategies. KBR has substantial ongoing work supporting utilities such as Melbourne Water, Southeast Water, Sydney Water, Water NSW, SA Water, and Urban Utilities, helping them achieve phased capital expenditure savings while delivering optimal environmental and community results.
You will play a vital role in the water team, contributing to project execution, technical direction, client relationships, and commercial success. Our team is also exploring innovative technologies like virtual reality and artificial intelligence, offering you opportunities to expand your skills in digital solutions.
Who are you?
You are a design-focused Senior Mechanical Engineer motivated by achievement and outcome-oriented. Your experience with design practices for water & wastewater infrastructure across major utilities will be highly valued. You possess a pragmatic approach to developing constructible design solutions and have proven commercial acumen in delivering water infrastructure projects.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will plan, schedule, and execute work requiring judgment in evaluating, selecting, and adapting engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Your work will involve conventional engineering practices, potentially including complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unconventional materials, and challenging coordination tasks.
