Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wall and Floor Tiler to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating beautiful, high-quality spaces and be driven to deliver customer satisfaction in a team environment.
Your duties will include:
Measuring the area to determine the number of tiles and materials needed
Planning tile layout, including cuts and patterns, to ensure symmetry and reduce waste
Marking guidelines and layout lines on walls or floors
Preparing wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout and adhesive, filling holes and cracks, and cleaning surfaces
Spreading adhesive onto prepared surfaces and tiles, and setting tiles in position
Using tile-cutting tools to cut and shape tiles needed for edges and corners, and around objects such as fittings and pipes
Ensuring tiles are correctly aligned and spaced
Mixing and applying grout between the tiles once the adhesive has cured
Cleaning off excess grout and polishing the surface
Sealing grout if necessary to prevent moisture penetration
Applying waterproofing membranes or levelling compounds if necessary.
May lay floors of granolithic, terrazzo, cement or similar composition
May lay coloured tiles in patterns to create mosaics
Following building codes and safety guidelines
The successful applicant will need to have: Proven experience as a Wall and Floor Tiler.
Minimum of 2 years' experience as a qualified wall and floor tiler.
Strong knowledge of tiling techniques and materials.
Ability to interpret architectural drawings and execute designs accurately.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to delivering high-quality work within tight deadlines.
