Position details

* Role Type: Temporary, full-time opportunity (up to 2 years) with the potential for extension or conversion to ongoing

The NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) is seeking a forward-thinking and accomplished Head of School and Teacher Technology to lead the delivery of digital services that underpin the state’s teacher accreditation and school regulatory frameworks.

We achieve this by supporting all school sectors with high-quality syllabuses, assessment (including managing the HSC and NAPLAN), teaching standards (e.g., accrediting teachers) and school environments (including setting and monitoring school standards).

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Information and Digital Officer, this senior leadership role is responsible for the strategic and operational delivery of teacher accreditation and school regulation technology services, working in close partnership with the School and Teaching Standards Division .

You will lead the delivery and continuous improvement of NESA’s school and teacher technology platforms, including the management and cloud migration of a mission-critical Microsoft Dynamics CRM system used by over 200,000 educators and 200 internal users.

Your portfolio will include:

* Leading complex ICT projects and operational delivery
* Driving digital innovation and service excellence
* Managing stakeholder relationships across government, education sectors, and vendors
* Aligning technology solutions with NESA’s strategic goals for teacher accreditation and school standards

What You’ll Bring

* Proven leadership in technology and digital delivery within complex environments
* Expertise in managing large-scale CRM platforms (preferably Microsoft Dynamics)
* Expertise in stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and conflict resolution
* Experience in education, academic, or public sector program delivery
* Strategic thinking and resilience in navigating legacy systems and rapid change
* Relevant tertiary or professional qualifications or demonstrated, equivalent professional experience in a related field
* A valid Working With Children Check (prior to commencement, not required at application)
