**Position**:

- Applications are sought from August 2025
- Canberra Health Services recruits RMOs to the ACT Network which includes North Canberra Hospital, Goulburn Base Hospital, Moruya Hospital, Cooma Hospital and South-East Regional Hospital (Bega). All RMOs are allocated rotations within the ACT Network.
- Rotations may include:
- Emergency Medicine at Canberra & North Canberra Hospitals
- Various Medical specialty rotations
- Palliative Care at Clare Holland House in Canberra
**Duties**:
- You will:
- 1. Provide day-to-day medical care for patients of the Canberra Health Services Directorate at a level commensurate with the level of clinical experience and under the supervision and direction of more senior medical staff.
- 2. Demonstrate appropriate progression toward more independent medical practice, with concomitant development of clinical knowledge, skills and behaviours required for safe medical practice.
- 3. Work within and support the multidisciplinary clinical team.
- 4. Contribute to clinical audit and participate in changes that improve quality and safety of patient care.
- 5. Participate in the supervision and education of more junior medical staff and contribute to the education of medical students.
- 6. Maintain adequate medical records with legible entries, and complete discharge summaries on time.
- 7. Participate in the after-hour's roster as required and in accordance with current protected working hour's provisions.
- 8. Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.

**Position Requirements/Qualifications**:
**Mandatory**:
- An Australian MBBS medical degree or equivalent.
- General Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Current Basic Life Support skills as a minimum, and Advanced Life Support skills where required.
- Proficient computer literacy skills, as you will be responsible for completing clinical documentation in the DHR and using other CHS IT systems.
- Have an understanding of how the National Standards and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) indicators align with this role.
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role as detailed in the CHS Exceptional Care Framework, Clinical Governance Framework, Partnering With Consumers Framework and all other related frameworks.
- Obtain a Compliance Certificate from OMU (Occupational Medicine Unit) relating to assessment, screening & vaccination processes against specified infectious diseases
- Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
