The opportunity
We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our finance team in Canberra. The Assistant Accountant is responsible for the accounting operations of a business unit, including month & year end processing, associated journals and account reconciliations.
Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, your key activities will include:
* Maintaining accurate and timely reconciliation of accounts.
* Providing financial information and analysis per reporting deadlines.
* Preparation of monthly and yearly financial statements.
* Preparation of compliance activities including BAS, FBT, superannuation, work cover and payroll tax returns and supporting work papers.
* Assist in financial planning and forecasting for the business unit.
You will have:
* An accounting degree
* 2 - 3 years' work experience in an accounting role
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to effectively manage priorities
* Customer focus and responsiveness
* Currently studying or intention to start CPA
