CRS provides critical assistance to individuals and families following police‐attended domestic violence incidents that result in a Domestic Violence Incident Report (DVIR). Working in close partnership with Western Australian Police, Child Protection and Family Support, and the Department of Corrective Services, the service delivers coordinated, trauma‐informed responses that enhance safety, stability, and wellbeing.Based in Karratha, the Family & Domestic Violence Liaison Officer plays a pivotal role in triaging DVIRs, identifying high‐risk cases, and providing direct support to vulnerable victims and their children. This includes delivering assessments, safety planning, information, referrals, and case coordination aligned with best‐practice frameworks. Operating within a 7‐day‐a‐week service, you will contribute to a collaborative and integrated FDV response system across the Pilbara.*This is a 7-day-a-week service, requiring weekend coverage as part of a rotating roster.***Your Key Responsibilities*** Conduct assessment and triage of domestic violence incident reports in collaboration with WA Police and Child Protective Services, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.* Undertake comprehensive risk assessments and develop safety plans using the Common Risk Assessment and Risk Management Framework.* Respond promptly to urgent client safety needs, providing crisis‐focused intervention and support.* Deliver home visits, community outreach, advocacy, and case coordination for victims and their children, usually over a 6–12‐month case period.* Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders including police, courts, child protection, women's refuges, and specialist FDV services.* Participate in interagency meetings, steering committees, and forums to share information, contribute to best practice, and advocate for the needs of families affected by violence.* Adhere to all internal and external policy and procedural requirements, including confidentiality, duty of care, OH&S, and statutory compliance.**Requirements for Success*** Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in the Family and Domestic Violence, child, youth, or family services sectors.* At least 1 year of experience working within FDV services, with confidence in case management and trauma‐informed assessment processes.* Strong local knowledge of, and respect for, ATSI communities, peoples, and cultural protocols.* Demonstrated ability to quickly assess client needs and apply sound judgement in high‐risk situations.* Excellent communication, time management, networking, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences.* Capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative multi‐agency team.* Ability to work weekends and public holidays as required as part of a rotating roster.* Full driver licence with no restrictions.Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.**Your Benefits**To ensure our employees feel valued, empowered, and celebrated, we provide a range of employee benefits including:* Rewarding work – every day you know you're making a real difference* Not-for-profit salary packaging, reducing your tax (details via )* Free external, confidential counselling and access to .* Volunteering opportunities* Extra leave available including an additional public holiday, additional annual leave day on your work anniversary and the opportunity to purchase further annual leave.* Pilbara Remote Benefits include:* Additional $1,000 each year to assist with cost of living in a remote area* 5 weeks Annual leave* Access to up to 5 additional days Personal/Carers leave each year* Rental Assistance of up to $200 per week* Relocation allowance of $1,500 to assist in moving to the area**Our Culture**Our innovative and inclusive culture will ensure you feel valued at Mission Australia as you help Australians in need and develop in your career.We prioritise the safety and wellbeing of everyone, both within our team and the individuals we serve.We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive working environment.
