Clinical Nurse Specialist – Mental Health Liaison
Location: Bunbury Regional Hospital, Western Australia Country Health Service. Contract: Fixed Term, full time until 01/12/2026, possibility for extension or permanency.
Ideal Candidate
* Eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Significant experience in acute adult mental health services with demonstrated advanced skills in crisis intervention and psychiatric assessment.
* Strong leadership abilities within a multidisciplinary team environment, coupled with excellent communication skills.
* Proficient in the use of relevant computer systems and maintaining patient databases.
* Knowledgeable in legislative and regulatory requirements impacting mental health service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct mental health triage and risk assessments for patients presenting to the Emergency Department and liaise effectively with the Mental Health team for psychiatric assessments.
* Provide consultation services to medical and nursing clinicians, aiding in patient management strategies and education.
* Coordinate after-hours psychiatric emergency responses, delivering critical support to colleagues and ensuring a seamless service.
* Develop and maintain clinical pathways, policies, and guidelines in collaboration with mental health clinicians and managers.
* Promote mental health education within Bunbury Regional Hospital by participating in staff development sessions and community outreach initiatives.
