The opportunity

Our Built Environment Directorate is on the lookout for a Maintenance & Facilities Manager to play a pivotal leadership role, ensuring that GMCT's assets, facilities, trees and infrastructure are maintained effectively and efficiently to support organisational objectives. Contract and risk management, customer satisfaction and employee experience will all be of critical importance in the successful performance of the role.

The Maintenance and Facilities team is the first line of defence to ensure that the operational customer facing staff are equipped and empowered with a maintained assets and facilities infrastructure to support and provide care to the families and broader communities.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

* Ensure that all strategies, plans, systems, processes and contracts comply with GMCT policies and other relevant legislative requirements.
* Deliver general maintenance activities across GMCT to ensure all company assets, infrastructure and facilities are adequate and up to standard.
* Monitor performance, undertake external reviews, benchmarking and statistical analysis in order to continuously improve maintenance activities and contracted services.
* Oversee all contract management across GMCT service contracts (including security), ensuring all GMCT key performance indicators are met, as well as occupational health and safety requirements.
* Maintain all company assets, infrastructure and facilities in a fit for purpose manner, such that business continuity is maintained.
* Lead, motivate and develop direct reports and act as the escalation point of contact for complex and sensitive issues.
* Manage and provide oversight of budgets and purchase orders as required.
* Provide leadership in the planning and implementation of maintenance activities, ensuring that work units participate in improvement activities which review the efficiency, effectiveness and appropriateness of services.

To be successful in this position you will require:

* A relevant tertiary qualification in a related field, with a minimum of 8 years experience in project management, asset management or contract management.
* An ability to drive to big picture goals and milestones while valuing and maintaining a strong attention to detail.
* Proven record of change management with quality outcomes.
* Proven strong understanding of building and construction including civil, structural and mechanical constructions.
* Strong communication with a variety of stakeholders across organisational levels – listening, emotional intelligence and providing answers.
* Decision making; proven ability to work independently and to provide advice on a broad range of issues.
