Position Information
Dawson Public School is located in Western Sydney and has an enrolment of 338 students. This includes 266 K-6 students, 2 multi-categorical support classes and 72 preschool students. Our school community is culturally diverse with 47% of students having non-English speaking background, 33% require some level of EAL/D (English an additional language or dialect) support and 20% of students identify as having an Aboriginal background.

Selection Criteria
* Approval to teach primary English as an additional language or dialect (EAL/D) or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in EAL/D qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and implement high quality engaging and effective differentiated teaching and learning EAL/D programs and resources to maximise the learning outcomes of diverse learners.
* Ability to guide teachers in effective use of the ACARA EAL/D Learning Progressions and ESL Scales and work collaboratively with staff on whole-school data collection and reporting practices.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills and experience in working collaboratively with teachers, school leaders and families.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
