Overview:
This role is responsible for conducting food production checks as fruit and vegetables are picked, graded, packed and made ready for the commercial market. This is your opportunity to play a crucial role in ensuring top-quality produce reaches supermarkets, restaurants and family tables across Australia.
Located in Two Wells, South Australia, the role is offered casually with ongoing regular work and is paid at a Level 4 of the Horticulture Award plus all appropriate penalties and overtime rates applicable.
While hours of work can vary, we are looking to fill the afternoon shift which is an 8-hour shift commencing between 2-3pm each day, Monday to Friday initially but as requirements pick up reasonable overtime may be offered.
About the Position:
* Undertake quality checks of all produce and packaging coming out of production
* Check and report on labelling, used by dates and any packaging is in line with batch requirements
* Monitor metal detectors and x-ray machines' functionality regularly
* Liaise with key stakeholders in the production workflow. E.g. packing and labelling areas
* Quality record keeping in line with company policy and food safety requirements
* Appropriate escalation and reporting on all of the above
* Ensure all health and hygiene standards are personally upheld and championed more broadly in line with Food Safety Standards
* Comply with and champion production policy and process
* Quickly address and resolve any issues to keep operations smooth and running at an appropriate level
* Work closely with co-workers to meet production targets and uphold safety standards
What We’re Looking For:
* Previous demonstrated work history, outlining at least 12 months of full-time work in a quality assurance role in a food production area
* Strong focus on maintaining quality and accuracy in all tasks
* Demonstrated English language and numeracy proficiency
* Demonstrated computer literacy
* Good communication skills to contribute positively, report issues and coordinate with the team
* Demonstrated knowledge of operating safely in an agricultural environment and adhering to WHSE requirements.
* Workers must demonstrate the ability to get to work each day using their own transport as no public transport is available near the work location.
