Incorporated in 1985, we began as a small group of North Fremantle residents and researchers concerned about local engagement, the environment, and appropriate technology. Four decades later, we have become a renowned and respected not-for-profit organisation.

We:

· Specialise in native plant propagation & seed management of the Swan Coastal Plain & Darling Scarp.

· Deliver environmental services to accelerate revegetation, restore biodiversity & preserve native plants.

· Generate environmental education and training programs and cultural exchange events.

· Provide workplace opportunities for people with differing backgrounds, life experiences or abilities so people feel connected, respected and valued.

Position

The Nursery Sales and Customer Service role is an integral part of our team ensuring professional communication and response to our broad base of wholesale clients. This demanding role oversees the ordering process from initial inquiry through to order completion. This role acts as a key liaison between customers and the nursery team.

Essential technical skills & knowledge

· Minimum of 1 years' experience in Nursery Sales/Customer Service.

· Excellent plant knowledge, or ability to learn quickly the indigenous species endemic to the Swan Coastal Plain and Darling Scarp, WA.

· Demonstrated experience using Evergreen Connect, Xero, Square & Microsoft programs.

· Strong communication skills.

· Good problem-solving ability.

· Good time management and organisational skills.

· Keen attention to detail.

· Self-motivated with a positive and can-do attitude.

· Ability to be flexible and adapt under pressure and to deadlines.

· Australian work rights are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide professional service to existing clients with regular communication via email and telephone.

· Liaise with nursery staff to keep up to date with current inventory to ensure orders can be met or substitutes provided in case of plant losses.

· Track current and upcoming orders and communicate to production team to ensure production is on track and plants are delivered to clients on time

· Be conversant with the Apace Terms of Trade and initiate the issuing of plant holding deposits and other benchmark payments when required.

· Provide feedback to production team on quality and appearance of plants produced and delivered.

· Identify and pursue new business opportunities.

· Collaborate on determining competitive pricing for native seedlings.

· Collaborate on production forecasting to expected sales and schedules.

· Collaborate on propagation plans incorporating feedback from clients.

· Generate quotes for clients using Evergreen Connect and integrate with Xero accounting software.

· Generate partial dispatch delivery notes and invoices when required.

· Coordinate the Annual Plant Subsidy Scheme in May for all Councils and residents.

· Undertake regular visits to existing clients to maintain and build relationships.

· Regularly attend industry events and monitor market conditions.

· Assist in general administration tasks when required.

· Assist with retail and general phone inquiries when required.

· Provide sales reports for the Board and General Manager upon request.

· Participate in coordination & staff meetings, planning sessions and evaluations.

· Communicate and implement Apace policies and procedures.
