Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of Fiber Optic Gyroscope (FOG) systems for optimal performance and manufacturability
Develop and scale up FOG manufacturing processes for high-volume production
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate hardware, software and production efforts
Analyse and troubleshoot test data to continuously enhance FOG performance
Establish efficient test processes and tooling for fibre optic coils
Guide production engineering teams with metrics, SPC implementation and technical support
Stay current with technological advancements in photonics and inertial navigation
Maintain a strong focus on customer needs and application performance in demanding environments
Desired Skills and Attributes
Bachelor's or Master's in Physics, Optics, Photonics or Electrical Engineering
Proven expertise in Fiber Optic Gyroscopes and their underlying principles (e.g. Sagnac effect)
Experience in designing and integrating electro-optical systems
Deep knowledge of light sources, optical fibres, modulators and detectors
Familiarity with scaling up precision manufacturing processes
Excellent analytical, communication and collaboration skills
Proactive, ownership-driven mindset with strong problem-solving ability
Desirable
PhD in a related field
Background in defence, aerospace or autonomous systems
Exposure to inertial navigation algorithms and modelling tools
Training in root cause analysis (RCA) and 8D methodologies
