Role Overview
The Business Development Manager will drive the commercial growth of the club by identifying and developing new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, increasing membership and court utilisation, and enhancing the club’s presence in the local sports and corporate community. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for sport, strong commercial acumen, and a track record of building lasting business relationships.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business strategies to grow memberships and event revenues.
- Identify and secure commercial partnerships with local businesses, brands, and sporting organisations.
- Lead initiatives to increase group court bookings, coaching and program participation, and corporate events.
- Work with marketing team to promote the club through digital campaigns, social media, and community activations.
- Develop and manage sales pipeline and promotional offers for group bookings and corporate events.
- Represent the club at local business and sports networking events.
- Create tailored corporate membership and event packages.
- Manage relationships with sponsors and partners to ensure brand visibility and mutual value.
- Collaborate with the management team to ensure smooth delivery of programs and events.
- Track key metrics such as revenue, membership growth, and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare monthly business reports and performance updates.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or partnerships (preferably within sport, hospitality, or leisure industries).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong marketing and event management understanding.
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for sport, fitness, and community engagement — prior experience with racquet sports (padel, tennis, squash) is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or related field (preferred).
- Driver’s licence (preferred for local business engagement).
