**About the opportunity**
NSW Health Pathology is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to join our Anatomical Pathology team at Westmead Hospital on a temporary part-time basis until June 2027. This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your pathology knowledge and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced diagnostic laboratory, working alongside highly skilled scientific and technical professionals.
Located within the ICPMR, our Anatomical Pathology unit is a large and busy diagnostic service supporting public and private hospitals across Sydney and NSW. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care through collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. **What you will be doing**
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of pathology services within a discipline relevant to the department, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems and Quality Systems
- Ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner and to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment whilst working autonomously to deliver results within specified timeframes set to meet client expectations
- Customer focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with customers and patients as well as clinical laboratory staff
- Commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement and to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities
