The Opportunity
Reporting to the General Manager – Construction, you will lead our National Estimating & Purchasing (NEP) function, overseeing our Estimating, Ordering and Administration teams across Australia and the Philippines. Leading a growing team of 35 members across Australia and the Philippines, you'll play a key role in driving commercial performance, improving systems and processes, and building a high‐performing, customer‐focused function.
This is a hands‐on leadership role for someone who enjoys developing people, building accountability, and driving continuous improvement. You'll be responsible for ensuring the function is scalable, efficient and well positioned to support the ongoing growth of the business.
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead the national Estimating and Purchasing functions to support business growth, commercial performance and operational efficiency.
* Develop and embed consistent processes, controls and reporting across both functions.
* Drive margin performance through accurate estimating, strong purchasing discipline and informed commercial decision‐making.
* Identify and implement opportunities for automation, system optimisation and scalable ways of working.
* Lead, coach and develop high‐performing local and offshore teams.
* Partner with Operations, Sales, Finance and Projects to improve business outcomes and customer experience.
* Manage supplier performance, purchasing risk, compliance and cost improvement initiatives.
* Contribute to senior leadership discussions and help shape the strategic direction of the function.
About you:
* Proven experience leading high‐performing teams in a complex operational environment.
* Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to turn operational improvements into measurable financial outcomes.
* Demonstrated success driving process improvement, transformation and systems optimisation.
* Strong analytical capability, with experience using data, reporting and performance metrics to inform decisions.
* Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
* Experience in construction, manufacturing, building products or a similar industry will be highly regarded.
* Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Commerce or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
* Experience leading offshore teams or shared service functions will be advantageous.
