MANAGER, LEGAL AND TECHNICAL – PERSONAL INJURY – DARWIN, NT
The primary purpose of this role is to provide technical, strategic and cost‐effective litigation and negotiation advice and support the delivery of high‐quality customer service across the MAC portfolios.
About the role
* Work with the claims teams and the Defendant Legal providers to ensure effective management of claims and encourage the use of alternate strategies to progress the claim toward timely finalisation.
* Develop, lead, and manage technical programmes and strategies to support the division's performance to KPI benchmarks and customer service delivery standards across the Motor Accidents Compensation (MAC) portfolios and minimise the number of disputed claims.
* Provide high‐level litigation advice and ensure that high quality and timely decisions are made on litigated matters in accordance with the Model Litigant Guidelines.
* Monitor quality and timeliness of technical advice provided by team members.
* Assist and review the content of Technical Training in conjunction with the approved Training and Career Management Programs.
* Provide sound instructions to legal providers on behalf of Allianz and the Motor Accidents Compensation Commission (MACC) at the Tribunal and court as necessary.
* Monitor overall performance of legal providers to ensure adherence to internal standards and Legal Provider Service Level agreements, and implement actions where performance does not meet expectations.
* Contribute to Legal and Technical Reviews as required to ensure they meet internal standards and that policies are in line with Legislative obligations.
* Keep the claims team up to date on the progress of legal actions relating to claims and ensure accurate and timely record keeping on the claims management system.
* Liaise with the MACC on a regular basis to communicate details regarding legal and reputational risks, provide regular updates and integrate their requirements into claims management/legal strategy.

About you
* Tertiary level Business Management or relevant industry qualifications or experience.
* Significant experience in the contemporary insurance business in a technical/legal role.
* Comprehensive understanding of relevant regulatory and/or legislative compliance requirements that impact the organization.
* Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands.
* Ability to manage key/complex negotiations to ensure favourable outcomes for MACC.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with clarity, impact and influence.
* A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
