About the Role
We are seeking experienced, reliable, and calm support workers to assist a 63-year-old male participant with complex needs living in a SIL home in Coffs Harbour.
This role involves high-intensity support, including personal care, mealtime assistance, behaviour support, and manual handling (hoist transfers).
The participant has Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Korsakoff's Dementia, and post-stroke mobility limitations, requiring consistent and compassionate support.

Key Responsibilities
* 1:1 support for all daily living tasks
* 2:1 support for personal care & hoist transfers
* Full assistance with L4 Puree meals + single-sip thin fluids
* Continence support, including IDC catheter care (training provided)
* Behaviour support strategies following BSP
* Repositioning, pressure area care & skin integrity
* Monitoring safety due to impulsive movements/falls risk
* Calm, trauma-informed communication
* Creating a low-stimulus, supportive environment
* Maintaining accurate progress notes and documentation
Client Needs
* Female staff preferred for personal care (client comfort preference)
* Must be comfortable working with high-intensity care
* Must follow step-by-step communication and behaviour strategies
* Must confidently use hoist + sling equipment
* Must maintain dignity, respect, and professionalism at all times
Requirements:
* Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, or similar
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Working With Children Check
* National Police Check
* First Aid & CPR
* Current Driver's Licence & reliable car
* Experience with high-intensity supports (preferred)
* Confidence using hoists (training provided if required)
* Ability to stay calm, patient and follow step-by-step instructions
* Good communication skills and professional attitude
* Reliability and consistency are essential
